Cabo Azul, a Hilton Vacation Club exceeded my expectations from the moment I arrived. The customer service was top-notch. My travel companions Kim and Lynn were in Los Cabos attending a wedding at another resort. Although we shared a 1-Bedroom Suite, we were comfortable, and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony.
I admit it — I hesitated before making a reservation at Cabo Azul, a Hilton Vacation Club, one of HGV Max’s newest properties, for the first time. However, there was a special offer for a 1-Bedroom Suite on the HGV Max portal. I read review after review, and there was only praise about the property.
The property is stunning. Walk around the resort and enjoy amenities like the fitness center and cafe. Or enjoy water aerobics at the infinity pool if you need a fun workout. We hung out at the adult-only pool most of the time. We also participated in resort activities like a Latin dance class, movie night and loteria, a popular bingo game from Mexico.
Los Cabos Restaurants
On the first day, we dined at Flor de Noche, located on the property, which was delicious and a splurge. I recommend venturing off the property and supporting local businesses, too.
If you want to save money on meals, walk to JJ Burgers & Salads. Visit happy hour for two-for-one margaritas. We dined at JJ two nights in a row and were never disappointed. The burgers are seasoned well and served with crispy golden fries. If you want a refreshing drink, try a Michelada with La Pacifica.
We dined at Latino 8 for lunch and chose the all-you-can-eat special from noon to 5: 30p.m. We enjoyed mango margaritas, mango ceviche, surf and turf tacos and elote soup. Our server was personable and provided excellent customer service.
Day Trip To La Paz
My Transcabo driver spoke highly of La Paz and recommended taking a tour to really see Cabo. I purchased three tickets at a discount because we attended a membership review.
The ride to La Paz started in the morning. We stopped for breakfast, and I enjoyed my first tamale made with potatoes. If you want to see more than the tourist side of Cabo, take a La Paz tour.
Membership Review
I like Hilton Grand Vacations’ membership review structure. There are no pressured sales pitches. Our sales representative talked about a VIP offer. Although the offer was intriguing, there were only two properties on the list I had yet to visit: Sedona, Arizona, and Washington, D. C. Even though we passed on the offer, we had until the end of our stay to reconsider.
We enjoyed our stay at one of HGV Max’s newest properties, and I look forward to visiting again.
