Summary: Whether you’re looking for a nightcap, a date night or somewhere in between, one Owner (and Orlando local) dishes on her favorite place to eat in Disney.

Growing up in Florida, Walt Disney World® was my family’s top vacation spot. And, if I’m honest, that hasn’t changed much — even as I’ve gotten older and married.

While we don’t currently have kids, Disney is still one of the best escapes from the real world and where we can be kids again.

Our “Disney style” has certainly changed over the years, and as Central Florida residents, we find ourselves on Disney property for dining more than anything else. Between Disney Springs™, theme park dining locations and resort dining, there are so many options.

Here are some of our favorite dining spots in Walt Disney World.

Where to Eat at Disney for the Family Traveler

Chef Mickey’s

this location has a special place in my heart. As a little girl, I grew up going to Chef Mickey’s. To this day, it’s still one of my favorite places to have breakfast.

You can’t beat having a character dining experience with Mickey Mouse and friends and, of course, the Mickey waffles (a personal favorite of mine).

Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it’s also only a quick walk or monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom park, so it’s a perfect way to kick off a day at the park.

50’s Prime Time Café

Travel back in time with a meal at this Fun eatery which is a 1950s theme. Find this restaurant at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, and come prepared for a hearty “home-cooked-style” meal. From delicious fried chicken to mouth-watering milkshakes, you can’t go wrong, which is why we love Visiting this restaurant.

Insider tip: Be on your best behavior and don’t put your elbows on the table unless you want to play a starring role in the themed banter.

Where to Eat For a Magical Date Night — Disney Style

Tooling’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera

My husband and I love having a Disney date night, and Tooling’s Terrace has quickly become one of our favorite date night locations.

Enjoying a meal at this romantic spot, located on the top floor of Disney’s Riviera Resort, affords you incredible views of Plot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. On top of the amazing rooftop views, the food is magnificent — a mix between Italian and French cuisine and worthy of topping your “fancy date night” bucket list.

Grab a coffee or a nightcap and head up to the rooftop terrace to complete a perfect evening.

California Grill

California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is another one of my favorite restaurants. Like Tooling’s Terrace, this restaurant offers excellent views, but this time of Magic Kingdom park.

Arguably, the best part of this restaurant is the meticulously curated wine selection, primarily focused on the California wine region. There are so many selections that you can’t go wrong, but if you like a little guidance when ordering, you’re in luck. The staff does an amazing job pairing wine selections with your food choices. It’s truly a top choice for elevating a date night experience.

Top Choices for the Wine Lovers, Mouse Ears Optional

Wine Bar George

You didn’t think that I’d forget to recommend a place specifically for wine, did you? For the wine lovers out there, this is a no-brainer choice. Wine Bar George located at Disney Springs, has a wide variety of wines, and you can order by the ounce, glass or bottle.

We definitely have our list of go-to’s, but we also explore the wine list and try wines from various regions worldwide.

Insider tip: Try the mac-and-cheese bites. You won’t regret it.

Best Picks for Travelers in Search of a Disney Happy Hour or a Nightcap

Enchanted Rose

One of the newest lounges, Enchanted Rose located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, offers some of the most incredible craft cocktail selections on Disney grounds. It puts a new spin on cocktail hour as a Beauty and the Beast-inspired lounge, with three themed rooms (The Library, Ballroom and Enchanted Forest. Whiskey loves should consider trying the “Boulevard” and the “Rye Not?” cocktails for a treat.

The Edison

My last (but definitely not least) recommendation is the Edison at Disney Springs. My husband and I can’t get enough of this 1920s prohibition-style bar. Visit this spot later in the evening to catch fantastic live music and performances throughout the night. Then, just pick your libation, sit back and enjoy.

Next time you pack up to head for the parks remember to bring your appetite, because this list only scratches the surface. Walt Disney World is full of mouth-watering and fun places to eat, which makes choosing the best restaurant almost impossible.

When asked about her long run in the Explorer program, Kassi says, “It’s my goal to inspire someone to create new memories, get out and travel and make the most out of vacation ownership.”
